CFS Annual Holiday Potluck!

Sunday, December 11th

Holiday Wreath

Each December, Charlotte Folk Society members come together to celebrate, enjoy each other's company, and share the music we treasure. We invite you and your family and friends to join us for the Folk Society's Holiday Jam and Potluck.

Please note the time, day of the week, and location: 4 PM, Sunday, December 11th, in Langford Hall at Dilworth United Methodist Church, 605 East Boulevard, in the Dilworth Community of Charlotte. Some parking is available on church property. Once those spaces are filled, please park on the streets near the church.

For those needing assistance with physical access, please call Dennis Frost's cell phone (704-650-8577) and someone will help you to come up in an elevator that opens to the exterior on the ground floor.

Food Buffet

We feel privileged to use Langford Hall, a warm, handsome, wood-paneled room that accommodates 200 guests. Adjacent to the hall is a state-of-the-art kitchen, which we have permission to use. So, we'll be able to maintain both cold and hot foods at appropriate temperatures until time to serve them.

Jam at the Potluck

Impromptu Jam at the Potluck
Dinner will begin at 5 PM. Please bring a dish to share that will serve eight or donate $5 for each guest in your party. Do have your dish assembled and ready to serve. We can keep your food hot/cold, but our volunteers do not have time to dress salads or put foods into serving containers. Come at 4 PM to join Salem Macknee's song circle, a Celtic session led by Ed Gebauer, or the Charlotte Appalachian Dulcimer Club. Or start a jam of your own choosing.

The Community Singers

The Community Singers

At 6 PM, we'll enjoy a half-hour concert of seasonal selections by The Community Singers, an intergenerational folk choir led by Carol Raedy whose purpose is to promote peace and build community through music. Watch video of their performance:   here.

Jamming and singing will resume after the concert concludes. We will need to be totally out of the building by 10 PM.
