Charlotte Folk Society monthly Gatherings are free and open to the public. Each year we offer both adult and youth scholarships to the Swannanoa Gathering Folk Arts Workshops. Every September we invite the community to a free Old-Time Music Jam & Ice Cream Social at a local historic site. As well, we regularly host old-time, Celtic, and bluegrass jam sessions at sites throughout Mecklenburg County.

All of these activities are made possible through a combination of membership dues, an Arts & Science Council grant, and donations. All three are essential to supporting our concerts and programs and allow us to offer them without charge.
